Interventional Cardiology
Our Interventional Cardiology services offer advanced, minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat complex heart conditions without the need for open-heart surgery. These catheter-based techniques are performed in a specialized setting, allowing for faster recovery, reduced risk, and excellent outcomes for patients with coronary artery disease and structural heart problems.
When is Interventional Cardiology Needed?
- Blocked or narrowed coronary arteries (chest pain, shortness of breath)
- Heart attack (acute or past history)
- Poor blood flow to the heart
- Structural heart defects or valve disorders
- Follow-up after abnormal stress tests or imaging results
- As a preventive measure to reduce heart attack risk in high-risk patients
Procedures We Offer:
- Coronary Angiography: Imaging of coronary arteries to identify blockages
- Angioplasty (PTCA): Balloon procedure to open narrowed arteries
- Stent Placement: Metal mesh tube placed to keep arteries open
- Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR): Measures pressure differences in arteries
- IVUS/OCT Imaging: Detailed views of artery walls for precise stent placement
- Balloon Valvuloplasty: To open narrowed heart valves
- Catheter-Based Closure of Defects: Such as ASD, PDA, or PFO closure in selected cases
Conditions We Treat:
- Coronary artery disease (CAD)
